Your pension and climate change - highlights

30 Jan 2024

climate pensions thumbnailThe UU pension schemes shared their first climate change reports in October 2023. There was a lot of information to digest, as the report was a regulatory requirement, however the Trustees have produced a one page summary for each Scheme (and section) so you can more easily see:

  • Scheme metrics and how the schemes are doing against those metrics
  • The schemes’ targets
  • Key actions for 2024

The full 2023 climate change report, which has been prepared in line with the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), for the UUPS can be found here.

United Utilities PLC Group of the Electricity Supply Pension Scheme

The Electricity Supply Pension Scheme as a whole has been in scope of the climate change governance and reporting requirements. While the UU Group does not meet the size threshold that requires full TCFD reporting, the Trustee has provided information for the wider Scheme’s report.

The wider Scheme’s most recent TCFD report was published in October 2023 and is available in the useful documentation section of the ESPS website: www.espspensions.co.uk/#useful-documentation.
