Knutsford residents invited to find out more about our water quality improvement scheme

United Utilities is offering the public the chance to find out more about its plans to improve water quality in Knutsford with a community drop in event on Wednesday 10 December.

The North West’s water company is working to upgrade its sewer network around Knutsford by building a new pipeline from its pumping station at Moor Pool to its wastewater treatment works in Knutsford.

The project will improve water quality in Moor Pool by reducing the number of times that storm overflows in the area operate during periods of heavy rain.  Enabling works have started at the site and the project is expected to be completed by May 2027.

The project forms part of United Utilities’ wider commitment to the largest investment in water and wastewater infrastructure in a century across the North West. The company will be spending more than £13bn over the next five years to protect and enhance over 500km of rivers, lakes and bathing waters whilst safeguarding drinking water supplies for millions of customers

Residents are being encouraged to find out more at a drop-in event being held on Wednesday 10 December, 3pm– 7pm at the Charlton Lodge Scout Hall, Knutsford WA16 6JD on Moor Park.
