United Utilities teams up with Rotary Club for water quality initiative in Northwich
A Rotary Club group in Cheshire has received a welcome boost to their community efforts to improve water quality in the nearby watercourse, thanks to a donation from United Utilities.
The group, based in Winnington, Northwich, was presented with water testing kits earlier this month to support collaborative working between the water company and the local group as part of our commitment to improving water quality in the River Dane.
Vale Royal Rotary Club meet regularly on a Wednesday evening in Winnington with the objective of making a positive difference in both the local community, and further afield covering a range of topics. Colleagues from United Utilities first visited the group in February to deliver a presentation on planned investment into the county over the next five years to 2030, with some insightful conversations on what can impact on river health, and what we can all be doing to influence change.
Emma Birch, Area Engagement Lead for Cheshire at United Utilities said: “We’re really pleased to have been able to support Vale Royal Rotary Club, and working in partnership with the club with a shared vision to improve water quality in the local watercourse is not just a priority for the community, but one for United Utilities.
“They clearly have a lot of passion for improving their community and we look forward to working with them on future projects.”
