Women on Water 2026: Influence In Action
British Water hosted its ‘Women on Water: Influence in Action’ event in Manchester on Thursday exploring what it really means to build influence and inspire change.
The event aims to “celebrate achievements, share experiences and explore how we can create a more inclusive, diverse and resilient industry.” This year the focus was on “how we can build our influence, individually and collectively, to challenge thinking, create opportunities and inspire positive change across our organisations and the wider water sector.”
This year, Helen Kowe, Head of Commercial Strategy & Contract Formulation, featured on the panel discussion, "Thriving Through Change", which explored how we can successfully navigate change while continuing to contribute, make an impact and support those around us.
Helen highlighted the importance of being your authentic self, understanding your boundaries, and supporting colleagues through change, both in and outside of work. She also shared how the Commercial team is embedding wellbeing within its commercial strategy and encouraging colleagues to make use of the tools and support available to enhance their own wellbeing and that of others.
The event was a truly inspiring and engaging afternoon, sparking meaningful conversations and providing attendees with the opportunity to explore how their voices can be heard, and how barriers to influence and positive change can be overcome.
