British Water Success

United Utilities have just achieved an impressive third place in the 2025 British Water Supply Chain Impact Survey!

British Water are the leading UK membership body representing the interests of businesses working in the supply chain of water and wastewater, together with wider stakeholders across the sector.

This annual survey, run by British Water since 2003, captures feedback from contractors, consultants and suppliers throughout the UK water sector.

It assesses water and wastewater companies across 12 key performance areas, including innovation, professionalism, contractual approach and communication. The results build an important picture of how our supply chain perceives its clients — and provides critical insights as we continue delivering AMP8.

Our rise in the rankings – which has seen us leap seven places in the ranking to third position - is the result of a collective effort from colleagues across our Commercial, Engineering and Capital Delivery directorate and the wider business. Our Commercial team have led on some amazing engagement efforts including hosting British Water and supply chain partners for an event focused on our plan to reduce spills form a record number of Combined Sewage Overflows in AMP8 and hosting 30 suppliers on a site visit to bring the programme to life.

Achieving third place is a great success story for us and reflects some outstanding work across our business over a year of focused engagement! However, our efforts don’t stop here as our sights are firmly set on reaching number one next year. You can read more about the survey and our progress here.
