United Utilities investing to upgrade Coppull’s water network

United Utilities is upgrading its water mains network in Coppull with new, more durable pipes designed to minimise leaks and bursts.

Work on the £1m project is due to get underway on 14 September and will see new mains introduced along Coppull Road from Southlands roundabout along New Road and Spendmore Lane, through to the junction with Station Road.

Works have been planned with Lancashire County Council and Cadent Gas to ensure they are coordinated to help keep disruption to a minimum.

Temporary traffic lights will be in place and any work required on Southlands roundabout will be carried out during October half term. The area will be cleared for Christmas on 18 December and is expected to be completed in early January.

United Utilities is notifying customers in the area. They are also reminding people that all United Utilities’ employees and contract partners carry ID cards and will be happy to have their identity checked. If in doubt, customers should call 0345 672 3723.
