Reducing flood risk for homes and businesses in Eccles

As part of our £300m wastewater investment in the area, the project gathered pace over the summer and is now complete, transporting water through the new pipework to Eccles Wastewater Treatment Works. Peel Green Road has fully reopened to traffic.

The next stage of the programme will continue at the treatment works, where we're carrying out a major upgrade that will help reduce storm overflow discharges by capturing and storing water during periods of heavy rainfall, and improving the quality of treated wastewater returned to the environment.
