Incident updates 1 in total

We are continuing to advise 215 properties in the Rainow area and 6 customers in Dane Bank to not drink your water, this is following a power outage at our site in the Macclesfield area yesterday.

This will be in place until we have completed some further testing on our network. During this time we ask that you:

  • DO NOT drink your tap water
  • DO NOT use your tap water for cleaning teeth, washing wounds or preparing food and use the bottle water we are delivering to your property for these activities
  • Boiling WILL NOT purify the water
  • YOU CAN use tap water for general washing, bathing and toilet flushing and activities such as doing household washing

In addition to delivering bottled water to customers’ doors, we have opened bottled water collection points which will be re-opening at 8am tomorrow:

  1. Bottled water collection point - Bollington Health & Leisure, Heath Rd, Bollington, Macclesfield SK10 5EX
  2. Bottled water collection point - Tesco Superstore, Hibel Rd, Macclesfield SK10 2AB

We have also set up an information hub for anyone who would like to talk to us directly, but please note that due to restricted space and its location, this is a walk-in only area (no vehicles) and this location will not have bottled water. It is purely to provide information for the community. The information hub is at the following location:

  1. Information hub – Holy Trinity Church Car Park at Round Meadow Car Park, Round Meadow, Rainow, Macclesfield SK10 5UB
