Our team will remain onsite throughout the night working closely with another organisation in order to begin the repairs safely. Repairs to our network can be harder to fix than we first thought, and take longer than we hoped to complete, thanks for your understanding and sorry for the inconvenience.
We have received a number of calls from customers letting us know that their tap water is discoloured.
This has happened because of a disturbance in the water mains in your area. Historical sediments that have built up over time in the water pipe have been disturbed causing discolouration to your water. This normally happens when we have carried out a repair or have replaced a section of water main.
We know it doesn’t look nice but don’t worry, it’s unlikely to be harmful and will settle down again with time. You can help by letting your cold water tap run at a slight trickle until your water runs clear again.
In the meantime we’ll be keeping an eye on this to make sure your tap water returns to normal again as quickly as possible. Please take a look at our discoloured water page for more information.
We want to assure you, it’s our top priority to get things back to normal in your area and we’re doing all we can to get started with the work.
We’ll need to work closely with another organisation before we can safely begin the repair.
All customers should have supply however this may fluctuate during peak times of the day. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this is causing.
Thank you for your continued patience.
Just to let you know for us to keep your supply on whilst we complete the repair, we’ll be re-routing water around our network of pipes. You may notice your water pressure is lower than normal or there may be fluctuations during peak times.
We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused, and thanks again for your patience.
