Our team has been back to one of Manchester's most loved shopping centres to share water-saving freebies and have great conversations with customers.
We met more than 8,000 customers while we were there, giving away 2,400 United Utilities water bottles to help reduce plastic waste. We also gave away fat traps for storing food oils and fats safely while they cool before scraping them into the bin – helping to avoid pouring them down the drain and causing blockages.
Customers were pleased to take home ‘swell gel’ pouches to reduce the need for watering thirsty houseplants, plus leaflets on our Affordability and Priority Services support.
And importantly, we had some brilliant discussions with customers, who told us they’d picked up helpful tips for saving water and money, plus “practical advice and reassurance” on their biggest water questions.
