Flushing allowance

If you have had to flush your tap, you may be eligible for a flushing allowance.

You can claim a £5 allowance per incident. You will receive it as credit on your account.

We will apply the credit within 20 days of your application. It will show on your next bill.

Check we supply you - To apply for the allowance, your property must be supplied by United Utilities. Click here to check if we supply your property.
You must be a metered customer - Unmetered customers to not qualify for the allowance as this will not have impacted your bill.
You are eligible for an allowance if:
- you have had to flush your tap because of discoloured water
- your property is metered
- you are a domestic household customer
