Building a stronger, greener and healthier Blackburn

What will the work involve?

The work will involve the construction of a new underground stormwater storage tank and associated wastewater infrastructure within private land opposite Yew Tree Drive, off Preston New Road. A temporary construction access will be created to the site, along with speed reduction measures in the surrounding area to allow construction vehicles to enter and leave the site safely.



Works are currently expected to start in December 2026 and last approximately 12 to 18 months. Once complete, the scheme will help reduce storm overflow spills and improve local water quality.
