Our improvements at Warrington Wastewater Treatment Works
Helping to improve water quality in the Manchester Ship Canal.
We’re carrying out a £17 million upgrade at our Warrington South Wastewater Treatment Works. Construction is underway to install new equipment and structures which will increase production capacity at the site - which is also set to become the first in the UK to integrate a new innovative process to help reduce ammonia and phosphorus in the treated water which is returned to the environment.
Work is expected to be completed in autumn 2026.
Helping to support others who care for our rivers
