Sewer improvements at Wavertree Park
We’re committed to improving drainage in the area and are in the early stages of a project to construct a new underground storm water storage tank and supporting equipment in Wavertree Park to help reduce pressure on the sewer network during intense rainfall events, returning storm water back into the sewers for onward treatment once there is enough capacity in the network.
What will the work involve?
We’ve been carrying out surveys and ground investigations to help develop our plans. We do understand how the local community really values the park and we’ll be doing all we can to minimise disruption for the local community and park users during the construction period.
We’re currently preparing the working area to begin the work and the main construction activity is expected to finish by spring/summer 2028.
