Our upgrade activity involves installing a new section of sewer which will directly link into our Eccles Wastewater Treament site. This will provide additional capacity for storm water in the network as we're also carrying out improvements at our Eccles site.

To avoid extensive digging within the road and reduce duration, we'll be using a tunnelling technique using specialist machinery. To carry out the work safely we'll need to have a temporary road closure in place affecting a section of Peel Green Road for a period of up to eight weeks from Monday 2 March 2026.

Traffic management:

• There will be two-way traffic lights in place near the 'Go Local' shop allowing access from Liverpool Road up to/from Hadon Road only.
• Peel Green Road leading off Barton Road will be fully closed to through traffic, with access only after the Chesham Road junction.
• We've been working closely with Salford highways teams to plan this to take place during the Easter 2026 break to try and minimise inconvenience to the community as much as possible.

Bus service 66: During our work the service will not stop at Barton Road or Peel Green Road.
