Whilst we work 24/7 to keep your water flowing, some older pipes are more prone to bursts, which can cause supply interruptions. We’re carrying out a programme of upgrades across the region to improve the water pipe network by replacing pipes. We've also taken a pioneering approach for one scheme in Wigan.  Working collaboratively with Cadent using dual-skilled teams who can work on both utilities to upgrade water and gas pipes as part of a combined programme to reduce disruption.

We’ll be in touch to provide further information if we’re carrying out work in your area as we understand roadworks and this type of upgrade activity can sometimes be inconvenient or disruptive. As part of the upgrade, we may need to temporarily turn off water supplies as our teams are working or have temporary traffic management in place.
