Building a stronger, greener and healthier Bramhall

£5.9million of investment to improve water quality in Stockport

United Utilities has announced plans to improve water quality in the Micker Brook which runs through Bramhall in Stockport

The North West’s water company is going to be investing more than £5.9m on two schemes that will improve the combined storm overflow (CSO) systems at Briarlands Close and Lumb Lane. The essential work will ultimately safeguard the environment, by reducing the number of times that the overflows operate into the Micker Brook.

The work is set to start in Summer 2025 and will take up to 12 months to complete.
