Over the next five years we're investing more than £30 million carrying out five projects in Chorley. Some projects are already underway such as the project at Southlands School, while others are still in the planning stages.
The underground tank off Myles Standish Way will be capable of storing three million litres of storm water and will reduce storm overflows into the River Yarrow, a tributary of the River Ribble. Vegetation and tree clearance activity was required to create a clear and safe working area before the main construction activity began. Work is now underway and is expected to be completed in early 2028 with sensitive and appropriate reinstatement plans in place.
