In a pioneering project, over a seven week period, we worked alongside Cadent Gas to upgrade water and gas supply pipes as part of the same programme.  This work was carried out by one of our delivery partners with multi-skilled teams and will provide a more resilient pipe network, avoiding several periods of disruption with a more efficient approach to upgrading several utilities simultaneously.

We understand that roadworks and interruptions to water and gas supplies can be inconvenient and would like to thank the community for their patience and understanding as the upgrade work was carried out. 

This is the first time we've adopted this approach to complete the upgrade activity on multiple utilities and will be looking for other opportunities in our region as part of our Big North West Upgrade programme.
