Improvements at Davyhulme Waste Water Treatment Works
A ten-year plan to upgrade our largest treatment works site serving more than one million people in Greater Manchester.
What will the work involve?
Planning permission has been granted for the first phase of work at Davyhulme. This initial investment of £350 million is due to start in 2026 and will ensure the site meets the needs of a growing population while achieving higher environmental standards to improve water quality in the Manchester Ship Canal.
Phase 1
- The works at Davyhulme will be delivered through United Utilities new Enterprise delivery model which brings together seven design and construction partners, plus United Utilities, into one integrated team.
