Building a stronger, greener and healthier Knutsford

Helping to improve water quality in Serpentine Water 

The £5 million project involves the installation of an underground storm tank in an area of land within the grounds of Knutsford Academy, Bexton Road, helping to safeguard the environment, by reducing the number of times that the overflows operate during heavy rain. 

What will this work involve?

This project is due to be completed in September 2026.

  • We will be constructing an underground storm tank, control kiosk and chamber.  
  • We are engaging with students from the neighbouring Knutsford Academy to speak with pupils about the ongoing works, how it will benefit the environment and future career options in science, engineering, technology and mathematics (STEM).
