Helping Liscard Primary School manage rainwater
We’ve worked with our partners to create a new-look playground at Liscard Primary School in Wallasey.
Featuring tree pits, raingardens and planters, the aim of the project was to provide a green and sensory environment for the children and slow the flow of rain into our sewer network.
With a changing climate and increased heavy rainfall, Liscard’s playground had previously been susceptible to flooding due to its grey impermeable surface. The new, sustainable and green solution is providing a thriving environment for thirsty plants and helping biodiversity to thrive, with reduced risk of flood risk.
Thank you to the school and our partners GreenBlue Urban for their support with this work.
