Lancashire

Lancashire is home to some of the most beautiful beaches and bathing waters in the UK, and picturesque rivers like the Ribble, Wyre and Lune. Over the last five years, we’ve invested more than £330 million across the county - working to improve our river health, capturing rainwater, building vital infrastructure and supporting local community projects.

Working to improve river health and tackling CSOs (combined storm overflows)

Lancashire is home to some of the UK’s most breathtaking rivers, including the Rivers Ribble, Lune and Calder.

We understand and share the concerns about the quality of water in our rivers, that’s why we’ll be investing over £870million over the next five years to improve the river environment across the county.

We’ll also be investing over £280 million to improve water quality at shellfish and bathing water sites in places like Morecambe and Fleetwood.

Climate change, a growing population, increased development and other factors mean it’s more important than ever to do what we can to protect them and we are determined to play our part.
