City Centre sewer upgrade completed early

Aspin LaneA £1.3m investment at Aspin Lane has disconnected a storm overflow ahead of schedule, helping to improve water quality in the River Irk.

Located on the edge of Manchester's Green Quarter and NOMA district, the project removed surface water from the combined sewer network. This prevented the storm overflow from operating during wet weather, and it has now been sealed off.

Our contractors also managed to complete the work more than two months’ ahead of schedule, helping to minimise the disruption while the improvements were carried out.
