Change the cycle
Did you know that 4.6 million period products are flushed every day in the UK?
Did you also know that period products don't break down in water? We may be stating the obvious here but this is because period products are designed to be absorbent.
While many women do dispose of period products in the bin, our research shows there are women who report regularly flushing period products. These habits have often been developed and reinforced over time, but flushing period products can cause blocked toilets, pipes and drains and these blockages can lead to sewer flooding.
We want to encourage women to change the cycle and do things differently by disposing of period products and its packaging into the bin.
Watch our video on how to dispose of period products. It's time to change the cycle!

So, what should you do with period products?
Change the cycle
When disposing of period pads and tampons, please wrap them in packaging or toilet paper and pop them in the bin.
Please don’t flush them down the loo – this includes tampon applicators (paper and plastic).
Stop the Block!
Period products and their packaging can block toilets, pipes and drains and cause sewer flooding. Please remember to only flush the 3 Ps - that's Pee, Poo and (toilet) Paper!
