Incident updates

Our team continues to work at the junction of Rochdale Road and New Radcliffe Street to repair the burst water main. Traffic management remains in place to ensure the safety of our team and road users while the work is underway.

To help keep as many customers' taps flowing as possible while we complete the repairs, we've put temporary measures in place.

Your water will be supplied from a different area, and our tankers will be pumping additional water into our network. You may therefore notice that your water pressure is a little lower than usual, or that it fluctuates during periods of the day.

Find out more about how our water tankers support the network.

If your tap water looks discoloured, don’t worry - this can happen when natural sediments in the pipes are disturbed. You can find helpful advice on our discoloured water page.

If you’re on a meter, you may be eligible for a flushing allowance of £5 credit straight to your account. This will help cover the cost of the water used during the flushing process. To make a claim, visit Flushing allowance | United Utilities and fill out the form with your information.

We’ll update this page again as soon as we have more information on the progress of the repairs. Thanks for your patience.
