Discoloured water advice

Incident updates

We have now isolated the burst on Prescot Road and repair work is underway. To help restore supplies as quickly as possible, we have moved water around our network and will also be using our Water on Wheels tankers to top up supplies in the area.

While this work continues, some customers may notice changes in water pressure at busy times or some temporary discolouration of their water. This is because we are using different routes through our network to keep water flowing to homes and businesses. We have included some helpful advice below should you experience either of these issues.

If your water looks discoloured, don’t worry - this can happen when natural sediments in the pipes are disturbed. You can find helpful advice on our discoloured water page.

We are aware that there may be some traffic disruption while the repair is completed and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Safety is a priority, and we need to work carefully around a number of other utility pipes before the repair can be completed.

Our teams will be working around the clock to complete the repair as quickly as possible. We would like to thank local residents and the wider community for their patience, understanding and kindness towards our colleagues while they have been working in the area. Your support is greatly appreciated.
