Your local reservoir may look like a tempting place to cool off on a hot day – but swimming in it can be fatal.

With its icy waters, steep sides, hidden currents and sudden drops, even the strongest swimmer can quickly find themselves in serious trouble.

Every year in the UK, someone, somewhere ignores the warning signs, and takes the plunge, with fatal consequences.
