Working with partners

By collaborating and working with others, we aim to create better rivers and better water environments.

Love Windermere

This partnership aims to balance the needs of nature, the community and the local economy to deliver a healthier future for the lake and surrounding area. The partnership focuses on using an independent data and science led approach to better understand Windermere and deliver a coordinated response.

Royal Society for the Protection of Birds

We have been working in partnership, managing the land together for the benefit of biodiversity, water quality and to develop a sustainable farming model for the future. We work with the RSPB at Bowland in Lancashire, Dove Stone Reservoir near Oldham, Lake Vyrnwy in North Wales and Haweswater in the Lake District.

The Rivers Trust

This partnership aims to tackle the big challenges facing rivers in the region. It is the first time a partnership has set about designing a framework to bring together everyone with an interest in the health of rivers from source to sea. It is focusing on challenges such as pollution, flooding and water abstraction and helping to combat the extremes of climate change.

Local Authorities

A first partnership of its kind is looking at how we manage water across Greater Manchester. Together with Greater Manchester Combined Authority and Environment Agency we’ve created an Integrated Water Management Plan.

By working collaboratively, the partnership will deliver progressive improvements in sustainable water management, enhancement of the natural environment and ensure all future developments and critical infrastructure are resilient to flooding and the impact of climate change.
