Over the last few years we've completed several projects which have reduced the risk of stormwater flooding on Glebe Road and contributed to significant environmental benefits to Windermere.

To help provide further water quality improvements, we're carrying out a project to install a new 6.5km wastewater pipeline from our pumping station in the car park at Glebe Road, along the A592 to Windermere Wastewater Treatment Works (Tower Wood).  We'll also be completing a programme of upgrade work at Windermere and Ambleside Wastewater Treatment Works.

Pippa Smith, Wastewater Asset Manager explains more in this short video below.

Our work will provide long term benefits by:

  • contributing to reduced levels of phosphorus in Windermere
  • building a more resilient wastewater network
  • enhancing the amenity value of the mere.

We understand roadworks are inconvenient, but as part of our project we will need to have some lane and road closures in place along sections of the A592.  You can find out more details about the traffic management in the How our work may affect you section.

Or you can contact us on 0345 672 3723 quoting project number ADV 80040328.  We'll be happy to help.
