We’ve been planning our project to link West Cumbria to the rest of our regional water network for a number of years.
During this time we investigated a number of possible locations and routes. It’s a major programme of work, so throughout our planning journey it was important to ensure we consulted and engaged with stakeholders and the local communities to obtain their views and feedback.
Since 2013 we’ve held over 35 public consultation and exhibition events which helped shape our plans.
Our full planning application was approved by Allerdale Borough Council, Copeland Borough Council and the Lake District National Park Authority in November 2016. Details can be viewed from the planning submission link.
We’ve submitted some amendments to our original planning application for consideration by the relevant planning authorities. Further details can be viewed in the Planning amendments section or via the planning application search on the Lake District National Park website (ref 7/2017/2217)
