Not a dry tap in the house at fairy tale wedding
No one wants it to rain on their wedding day - but a drought is even worse.
Engineers from United Utilities saved the day when the organisers at Peckforton Castle in Tarporley, Cheshire called for help with a burst on a private water pipe serving the venue.
United Utilities engineers deployed a giant water on wheels tanker to keep the venue on supply, while the pipe was fixed.
The quick response ensured the wedding could go ahead as planned. There wasn't a dry eye, or tap, in the house!
Peckforton Castle, a Grade 1 listed building in Tarporley, serves as a fairy tale wedding venue for couples, and has also featured on the Real Housewives of Cheshire TV show.
United Utilities' engineer Phil Payne said: "We got to the venue and discovered the problem was on a private pipe, not our water network. However, with the guests booked and the happy couple about to say 'I do', we could hardly leave everyone high and dry!
"We used a tanker to keep the venue topped up with water, while engineers got cracking with the repair to the pipe. Everything went without a hitch, and I don't think the happy couple were even aware of the behind the scenes drama.
"We're glad we could help out. It's a beautiful venue, and we hope the newly weds had a fantastic day."
