Information for parents

Should I go to university? Do I need to get a job? Do I have to stay on at school?

Do these questions sound familiar?

There are so many options for your son or daughter to choose from at such a young age, and making the right choice at just 15 or 16 years is going to be a tough decision.

An apprenticeship might not have even crossed your mind as a route for your son or daughter to take, but we’re here to show you why an apprenticeship could be the start of a great career.

What’s an apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship is a real job with training which allows your son or daughter to earn while they learn, whilst working to government and industry approved standards.

We have lots of different roles on offer, including the opportunity to work on big exciting projects in the engineering team, the chance to work on a treatment plant, cooking up a storm in our state-of-the-art labs, working in our head office or they could find themselves out on the network fixing leaks.

We’re on the hunt for potential so if they’re great at practical skills, know how to tinker with a car or are a computer whizz– they could be what we’re looking for.

They'll be supported all the way through their apprenticeship with a dedicated mentor and manager.

We’ve got a great track record of employing our apprentices too. We recently gave all 42 apprentices from our last intake a full time job.
