What not to flush

DON'T GET BOGGED DOWN WITH BLOCKAGES

You probably keep your loo spotless and forget about your pipes. Sewers are only designed to take away human waste, water and toilet roll.

It's easy to remember, anything else, including products labelled 'flushable' can cause blockages and should go in the bin. Having a bin next to your toilet is an easy way to remember not to throw things down the loo.

TOILET TERRORS

THINK WHAT GOES DOWN THE SINK

Fats, oils and grease poured or washed down the sink after Sunday lunch or bacon butties will harden in the sewer and can cause a blockage. When fat is poured away it quickly hardens while other materials get caught in it and build up in the sewer. Having a fat trap (a container to collect the fat) in the kitchen is an easy way to remember to dispose of fat in the bin.
