We have started work on one of the largest engineering projects ever undertaken by a UK water company. A £125m water pipeline will run from Prescot Reservoir in Merseyside to Woodgate Hill Reservoir in Bury and will help to secure water supplies for future generations. The new 1.2 metre diameter pipeline will stretch 55km across Merseyside and Greater Manchester and will take approximately two years to complete. Merseyside currently receives it's clean water supplies from sources in North Wales, and Greater Manchester receives the majority of it's water from the Lake District. The pipeline will connect the two supply areas enabling us to move water around the region's 40,000km network.
