Why save water? Clean water is an increasingly precious resource and it makes sense to use it carefully all year round. One of the effects of climate change will be more unpredictable weather such as droughts, where water could be in short supply.
Remember - every time you use water you are also adding to your carbon footprint. We use enormous amounts of energy every year to collect, treat and transport clean water to your home, so the more you can save the better. There are lots of simple things we can all do, from turning off the tap whilst brushing your teeth to making sure you run washing machines and dishwashers with a full load. Find out more at our water and your carbon footprint page.

Tip of the season: Check your pipes and external taps are lagged - a frozen pipe can burst when thawed, wasting a lot of clean water. For more information on what to do in this cold spell, please follow the link on the right.
