It's really easy to remember what you can flush, only what comes out of you and toilet roll (sorry there's no easy way of saying it!).
Sewers are only designed to take away water, human waste and toilet roll. Over the years products have been introduced which although are very convenient, cause havoc to the sewer system.
Things like baby and toddler training wipes are really bad for causing blockages. Even products labelled as flushable are not "sewer friendly" and mix with the other items, literally causing a horrible monstrous mess.
Here are some of the items which can build into a monster form and then block the sewers:

Having a bin near the toilet is an easy way to remember not to throw things down the loo. We know that some things may seem a bit icky for the bin, but there are ways around this, for instance using nappy bags for baby wipes and sanitary disposal bags for tampons, sanitary towels and panty liners.
Keeping household waste out of the sewer network will reduce the risk of your own drains being blocked, which can be really nasty, inconvenient and expensive.
