Secondary schools

The Water School website

This is an environmental initiative for Key Stage 3 pupils and their teachers. The web site provides everything required to set up and run a water conservation project in school. The site can support cross-curricular work that enriches subject areas such as science, maths, literacy, numeracy, citizenship etc.

Securing our future

We have developed a web-based learning resource called 'Securing our future'. This is aimed at students aged 14-16 studying geography, engineering or construction and is based around the construction of our new West East Link pipeline.

Apprentice and Graduate Scheme

We're always looking to channel the best and the brightest of the UK talent pool to the North West. For this task, we need a constant stream of the very best apprentices and graduates. In return we offer the opportunity to work in a rewarding environment where you will be allowed and encouraged to develop, where you are surrounded by talented and lovely people (if we do say so ourselves) and where you can actually see the difference your contribution is making.

Pathways

Pathways is a special skills programme that’s going to be delivered in secondary schools. Our aim is to provide students with some practical help and support that may make a real difference in helping them find work or other interview situations.

We have designed all the supporting materials that we would need to deliver an interactive session and here’s the kind of things that we’ll be doing:

  • Helping students to write a CV
  • Preparing for interviews
  • Thinking about how to make a great first impression
  • How to communicate effectively
  • Practice at interviews
