Our recreation sites
The land and reservoirs we use to gather water from don’t just play a vital role in supplying our customers with their drinking water – they are also beautiful places to visit.
We own lots of land in some of the most scenic places in Britain such as the Lake District, the Peak District and the Forest of Bowland and we want to share this with you. At some of these sites we’ve created lovely lakeshore paths which you can walk around. You can come and have a look at some of the amazing wildlife and spectacular landscapes to be found around our reservoirs.

We also encourage all kinds of recreation, both organised and informal. Such activities include walking, bird watching and climbing to hang-gliding, model aircraft flying, mountain biking, horse riding, orienteering, mountain marathons, dog walking, llama trekking, mountain rescue and many others. Many of our reservoirs support clubs including sailing, wind surfing, canoeing, fishing and water skiing.
