Long term development statement overview

This statement is the 2009 annual revision of the long term development statement and has been prepared in accordance with standard licence condition 25 of the electricity distribution licence of Electricity North West Limited (ENW). The statement is divided into two main sections:

• An overview which describes the information which is contained within the full statement in order to enable potential users to decide if the full statement would be of use to them. This part of the statement is published with unrestricted access on the United Utilities web site.
• A detailed information section. This is also published on the United Utilities web site. To gain access to this a user name and password is required, the contacts within United Utilities page contains an explanation of how these may be obtained.

United Utilities Electricity Services (UUES) operates and maintains the electricity distribution network in north west England on behalf of the asset owner ENW.  Customers receive their electricity bill from supply companies who pay ENW for use of the electricity distribution network.

A contract has been established between the asset owner, ENW and UUES that defines the services UUES provides and the service levels to achieve.

About this statement

The information contained in this statement is provided for the sole purpose of allowing existing and potential customers to make an initial assessment of the capabilities of the electricity network and opportunities for changes in their use of the network or for connecting to it.  While all reasonable effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the information, ENW and UUES will accept no liability for any loss or damage caused by the information not being accurate. Actual changes in supply capacity for existing customers or new connections are subject to detailed assessment, approval and payment of appropriate charges.
