In this section you will find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about the apprenticeship scheme.
What do I do if I don't have access to the internet at home?
Like lots of large companies our application process is on-line. If you haven't got access to the internet at home you'll find that public libraries have computers through which the internet is accessible.
What do I do if I don't have an e-mail address?
You can establish an e-mail account with one of the many free e-mail providers.
What will the on-line tests be like?
You will be sent instructions via email which will tell you what you need to run the tests on your home PC. You should make sure you are in a quiet room with no interruptions. Depending upon which apprenticeship you have applied for there will be tests to assess your ability to work with numbers and words, and possibly spatial awareness and mechanical comprehension. These tests will be multiple choice. For some roles you may be required to complete a colour blindness test.
What do I do if I can't attend on the dates for testing or assessment centres?
Email the Resourcing Team at apprentice.recruitment@uuplc.co.uk. We will try to accommodate any changes but this cannot be guaranteed. It is important that you enter any dates you are unavailable on your application.
How will you contact me?
We'll contact you via email and we'll use the address you have provided on your application. It's important that you check the details are correct when you complete your application.
What if I haven't received any emails?
Check your junk mail and you may want to check your firewall settings. Certain service providers set higher security levels.
When will I start work if I am successful?
The apprentice training will commence early September beginning with an Induction event for all trainees.
