Understanding your bill

Everything you need to know about how we charge your business and the range of ways to pay.

How your bill is calculated

The amount we charge you for our services depends on whether or not you have a water meter. Most businesses in the North West have a water meter and pay for the amount of water they use and the amount we take away. If you don't have a water meter, we'll usually work out your charges based on the property's rateable value.

You also pay for the removal and treatment of rainwater that runs from your premises into our sewers and a contribution towards treating rainwater that runs off public highways. This service is called ‘Surface water and highway drainage
