The West Pennine Moors is an area of 90 square miles of moorland and reservoir scenery, dissected by wooded cloughs and characterised by skyline features like Rivington Pike, Holcombe Tower and Jubilee Tower on Darwen Moor.
As a major landowner in the West Pennine Moors, United Utilities seeks to provide the public with generous access to the land with every possible opportunity for recreation, whilst balancing the demand for high water quality and conservation issues with the needs of the local community.
United Utilities operate four information centres, some offering refreshment facilities, across the area at Rivington, Jumbles Country Park, Roddlesworth and Clough Head, Haslingden Grane.
