A helping hand

Whether your business is a small newsagent or a major manufacturing plant, there are savings to be made on your water bill. As well as following the steps outlined in other sections, there are also a number of organisations offering free, independent advice to businesses to reduce wastage.

Groundwork

Envirowise

Envirowise offers UK businesses free, independent, confidential advice and support on practical ways to minimise waste, reduce environmental impact and increase profits. Full details can be found on their website www.envirowise.gov.uk or tel 0800 585794.

ENWORKS

ENWORKS is an environmental business support programme whose aim is to help improve business competitiveness and environmental performance. They offer a range of free and subsidised services - to find out more, visit www.enworks.com or tel 0161 236 6348.

Tax savings

Businesses can make additional tax savings by purchasing water efficient products from the Water Technology List, a DEFRA, Inland Revenue and Envirowise initiative designed to encourage efficient water usage. For more information visit the Envirowise website www.envirowise.org.uk
