United Utilities accepts and treats septic tank waste (domestic sewage) from private and business premises.
- Waste (domestic sewage) is removed from your site/house by licensed third party carriers via a tanker; it is brought to United Utilities under 'Duty of Care' regulations and treated at one of our licensed waste management centres.
- United Utilities charges are published in our 'charges and tariffs' and are regulated by Ofwat (this year 2010-11 charges are £9.63 per M3 (1000 litres) or approx 220 gallons). There is also a £5 administration charge which is subject to VAT.
- United Utilities has 27 sites licensed to accept tankered waste, from Carlisle to Crewe and all areas in between.
- Whether you are a 'carrier' or a 'domestic producer' we can advise on all aspects of domestic sewage and septic tank activity and disposal availability.
- Producers/householder - we can verify if your waste was or will be carried by a licensed waste carrier and confirm it arrived safely and legitimately at our licensed premises under the correct duty of care conditions.
- Carriers - we can quickly (24hours) open accounts on production of a current waste carriers licence and full contact details. This will give you access to any of our sites. We can also advise on the closest site to your operation.
United Utilities practices, promotes, encourages and actively coaches responsible waste carriage and disposal. Our sites, network (manholes and sewers) and the environment in general is subject to abuse from 'fly tipping' of solid and liquid waste - if you require information or have details on any suspect or illegal activity please contact us on the details below.
