With a heritage in the highly regulated UK water and electricity industry, accountability and discipline in our processes are second nature. We apply that rigour to services ranging from network operations and maintenance to capital programme management, waste management, utility connections and metering services.

Our 'whole-life' asset management approach built on our asset owner and operator experience adds significant value to our clients' capital schemes.  This encompasses specification, design and commissioning of infrastructure and facilities.  We also manage the end-to-end process on behalf of our clients - from distribution and operational delivery to the issuing of bills and payment processing.  Through sound contract and programme management we turn complex requirements into simple delivery.

Using our legacy of engineering excellence and operating skills we have developed proven world class asset management methodologies and operating models.  These deliver significant benefits to clients including higher efficiency and quality, lower risk, faster change implementation and optimisation of whole life cost.  Wherever we are we draw on our wealth of expertise and apply it to deliver the best solutions across different sectors.

We have a number of industry leading contracts in our portfolio. Our success has included several utility industry firsts and, as a result, we are the largest operator of water and wastewater assets in the UK serving approximately 1 in 4 people. 

We own and operate the water and wastewater network and operate the electricity network in the north west of England where we are delivering a £3.5 billion capital investment programme for the period 2005-2010. We also operate around 60% of the outsourced utility market. 

In Wales, where we operate a large proportion of the water and wastewater assets, we have helped the owner Dwr Cymru Welsh Water to move from seventh to joint first place in Ofwat's performance league table and in the process won a new 15-year contract to continue providing these services. We are helping to deliver multi-million pound capital programmes for both Scottish Water and Southern Water.  We also operate the gas network in the north of England serving 2.5 million people on behalf of Northern Gas Networks.

Outside of the UK we currently have operations in Australia, the Philippines, Poland, Estonia and Bulgaria.
