Keeping your taps flowing and toilets flushing in Lancashire

Investment in Lancashire

Here are some of the projects being carried out in your area:

  • Our biggest project is taking place in Preston. Costing £119m the project involves constructing an entire sewer tunnel network, a series of storm water underground tanks - all to improve the bathing water quality off the Fylde coast.
  • Similar sewer improvement projects are taking place in Blackburn and Lancaster, worth £90m and £70m respectively, in order to ensure cleaner bathing water, which will help encourage tourism and help wildlife to flourish.
  • This sewer improvement work will be complemented by a new wastewater treatment works at Walton le Dale at a cost of £37m, which will be completed in 2013.
