Education centres

Education centres

Our environmental education centres are available free of charge for schools and colleges in the North West. They offer a full day's teaching for primary and secondary students, with programmes for further education and teacher placements.

We work with schools, local authorities, education business partnerships and other partners to provide educational resources on the water cycle, water conservation, the environment, electricity awareness and climate change. We have a network of environmental education centres and resource classrooms throughout the north west region.

In partnership with Eco-Schools and CREATE,  we have enhanced our education support to schools, offering students the opportunity to engage in a programme focusing on climate change including water and engery conservation.

Partnership exhibitions

You can visit several permanent exhibitions about water too....

  • At the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester, you can explore the world beneath our feet in the very popular underground Manchester experience.
  • At Brockhole, Windermere, you can discover the role of United Utilities in the Lake District, alongside the National Trust and Lake District National Park.

Please note: there is a small admission charge at some sites.
