The Corporate Responsibility (CR) Panel is a cross functional management panel, chaired by the Communications Director and responsible for the implementation of Corporate Responsibility policies and monitoring across all workstreams to deliver a consistent framework. Meeting at least quarterly, it prepares a quarterly report to the Executive Leadership Team.
The Corporate Responsibility (CR) Panel oversees policy co-ordination, management and reporting of key areas of impact to stakeholders, including customers, employees, communities, the environment, the company and its shareholders within defined areas of environment, workplace, customers and community impacts. Terms of reference
The role of the CR Panel will be to guide United Utilities' approach to corporate responsibility. The CR panel will:
- Recommend and review group policies on responsible business practices for alignment across workstreams - workplace, marketplace, environment and community
- Assess and review relevant KPI's against indices, market practice, best practice and United Utilities operations
- Monitor external developments in CR and recommend United Utilities approach to Executive Leadership Team
- Review business unit and group performance and against Key Performance Indicators
- Oversee reporting of social and environmental issues through the Stakeholder Report
- Business representatives will represent the full range of issues appropriate to their business unit rather than within their organisations
- Approve appointment of the auditor responsible for the Stakeholder Report
- Consider other matters as requested by the Executive Leadership Team
- Periodically evaluate the CR panels performance
- Raise awareness of corporate responsibility issues internally and externally
- Review and approve partnership spend in line with United Utilities' board approval limits
- Report quarterly to the Executive Leadership Team on activities, recommendations and key performance data.
