Anglezarke Reservoir
Anglezarke reservoir is the largest in the Rivington system built in the 1850's to supply the growing demands of the city of Liverpool.
Once bustling with quarrying activity the area now provides a quiet haven for wildlife, whilst the visitor can enjoy the Anglezarke Woodland Trail, alongside the reservoirs and woodland fringes.
Lead Mines Clough is another interesting trail exploring the historic lead mining activity on the edge of Anglezarke Moor, an extension may made to include the Wellington Bomber Memorial.
The open Access Areas on the adjacent moors offer extensive opportunities for the experienced walker, with some interesting prehistoric sites.
